Frank “Pistol Pete” Eaton was a real Oklahoma cowboy, marksman, and community figure whose grit and character inspired a beloved western icon. Our Foundation preserves and shares the authentic story of the man behind the mascot.
We are a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Pete’s artifacts and personal history, supporting education, and bringing accurate western heritage to the public through community programs and storytelling.
We safeguard artifacts, photos, documents, and place-based history tied to Frank Eaton’s life. We curate and interpret collections, create educational resources, and share Oklahoma and western history with students, families, and lifelong learners.
Our work is centered in Perkins, Oklahoma and Stillwater, Oklahoma, with programs and appearances across local schools, civic events, and university traditions.
Look for our booth at the City of Perkins Fun Run, OSU Walkaround, and the Old Settlers Parade. We’ll be there to meet neighbors and share true stories about Pistol Pete. If you would like for us to be part of your program please contact us on our Contact Us page.
Browse books for sale about Frank “Pistol Pete” Eaton and Oklahoma history, take photos, ask questions about Pete’s life and artifacts, and enjoy true frontier tales told in classic Pete fashion.
